Exciting Roads Ahead – Simpler Self Drive Holidays in India
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my inbox today and found this emailer waiting for me !
Carzonrent has launched Self Drive cars that you can rent hourly, daily, weekly or even monthly and go for the road trip you’ve always wanted to drive off to !
I’ve been planning my upcoming South African holiday very diligently and one of the must-do things there is driving through the garden route, more about it later. So, South Africa has a really good network of rental services in place – Avis, Sixt, Hertz, Bidvest and First Car Rental being the biggest players. And so is the case, with most other developed countries in the world. Most of them, also let you drive off to neighbouring countries helping you cover multiple countries overland without having to fly from point A to B. To make things even more exciting, you can pick up the car from one location and return it at another location at an extra charge. And that’s my style of travelling to experience more.
That got me wondering why we don’t have such services in India. In fact, India has quite a capable network on highway and roads and would be a perfect destination to launch this service. And right there, sitting in my inbox was a wish come true ! The service is called ‘Myles’ by Carzonrent and is available in 21 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Jaipur, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Vizag, Amritsar, Coimbatore, Bhubaneshwar, Noida, Gurgaon, Mangalore, Mysore, Udaipur and Ghaziabad. They have 33 variants to choose from, from electric cars to 4 Wheel Drives.
Unfortunately, right now you can’t choose different locations to pick up and drop off the car but I’m sure it’ll be executed soon enough. Also, what’s left to watch are the terms and conditions, travel insurance and road assistance services. I’m so excited, I can already see my Leh Ladakh road trip dream come true in a 4WD without having to hire a nuisance driver. Welcome to the new era of Self Drive Holidays in India !
Go ahead and try it. If anyone has tried Myles, please comment below and let me know about your experience.

Hi Shivani
The articles are impeccable. I run a startup called Rutogo.com, we are an online marketplace for outstation taxis. We do this by integrating all the local tour and travel operators under one single platform. We love travelling and hence we started Rutogo to help travelers save costs. Would like to connect with you on that front
Let me know
Cheers
